I’m a book lover and Florida native, who is trying to raise two daughters to love books as much as I always have!

You might be wondering about this blog name, Literary PenGwyns and where it comes from...so let me tell you! Our last name is Gwyn and as a kid my husband was teased by his classmates, who called him “Ben Gwyn the penguin”. When we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility after losing three babies, we use the nickname “PenGwyns” for whenever we talk about all of our babies (here and gone).

When I first started my bookstagram, I included a lot of kids lit that my eldest daughter and I were reading together. It’s since morphed more into what I’m reading and every once in a while I throw kids lit in, but the nickname reminds me every day of why reading is so important to me and why I want my daughters to have that love of reading...reading has been what has got me through some of life’s toughest moments.

Recently I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer at the age of 30. It rocked our whole world and I’ve dove further into reading as a coping mechanism. I love reviewing the books I read and often even do videos reviews on IGTV, so I wanted a secondary place to put these reviews!
