reviews, ramblings, and real life
View this post on Instagram . . I was so excited to finally dive into Anne of the Island this month! Since I was joining in the #sweetbookishandanne read-along with @sweetsequels and @bookishstardesigns, I was a good girl and patiently waited for July to continue on in Anne’s story. While I waited, I read House of Dreams, a biography on L. M. Montgomery and I am so glad I did! It made reading Anne of the Island so much richer. . Anne of the Island is Anne’s college story. She is 18 and off to get her education now that Rachel has moved into Green Gables to help Marilla and the twins. At college, we get to meet a cast of new and old characters, but my favorite new character was absolutely Phil (Phillipa). She has two boys madly in love with her, is witty, vain, a bit of a mess and very outgoing and confident. Just the perfect friend for Anne. . We also have a string of proposals for Anne! Some wanted, some unwanted, and even A COUPLE from sweet Gilbert. He was as dreamy as before and I cannot wait to see what life has in store for these two. . I found it interesting just how much of Maud’s life was put into this book and would love to talk about her many proposals and suitors with you. Have you read this book? Tell me your favorite parts! . Side bar, but how gorgeous is the @nerdfacesleeves in the cover photo? It’s probably one of my absolute favorite bookish purchases to date! #showmeyournerdfacechallenge A post shared by Kaylee | Literary Pengwyns 🐧 (@literarypengwyns) on Jul 15, 2019 at 11:58am PDT
